Overview – Overcoming Infertility

Cairo Fertility Clinic offers a comprehensive range of diagnostic and treatment services for infertile couples.

Subfertility is defined as an inability to conceive after one year of unprotected sexual intercourse. 10-15% of couples will experience involuntary subfertility at some stage during their lives. The highest chance of conceiving is in the first 12 months and overall 84 % of couples will have conceived during this first year. Half of the remainder will have conceived by 2 years, this gives a level of 92% of couples conceiving within 2 years.

Subfertile couples are encouraged to seek medical advice after a year of trying to conceive. Earlier consultation is recommended for women who are aged 35 or above, or if a woman has any health problem or medical history which might affect their fertility such as previous pelvic surgery, pelvic infection or irregular periods. Similarly if the husband is known to have had a problem he should seek medical advice earlier.

CFC provides complete diagnostic investigations and treatments of both male and female infertility. Treatments include all methods of ovulation induction, artificial insemination, intrauterine insemination, tubal surgery, surgical treatment of endometriosis and fibroids, as well as the more complex methods of assisted conception such as IVF/ICSI.
